Mental Health Counseling Intern
-
I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University Columbus. My experience in behavioral health settings has provided me with a strong clinical perspective on how people navigate emotional challenges.
-
My approach to counseling is grounded in empathy, respect, trust, and a dedicated commitment to our collaborative work. I believe that feeling truly heard is the essential foundation for growth. My goal is to work alongside you, creating an atmosphere where you feel safe, seen, and empowered to address the emotional challenges that brought you to counseling.
She is genuine, and believes that it is normal for people to experience difficult times in their lives, but views these times as opportunities for people to grow.
-
My clinical focus is on adults and teens who are navigating anxiety, people-pleasing, and the challenge of setting personal boundaries.
In my sessions, I utilize focused, evidence-based tools to help you build lasting skills:
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to systematically understand the specific thoughts and beliefs that trigger anxiety and guilt.
I incorporate Mindfulness to equip you with reliable ways to reduce stress and interrupt overwhelming reactions.
My primary objective is practical skill transfer, ensuring you leave with clear, actionable strategies to manage your emotional life and confidently prioritize your own needs.
I am here to support you in achieving balance and feeling confident in managing different life events.
A little about Alayna
When Iām not focused on my studies or clinical work, I enjoy riding bikes on trails and, when I travel, I love scuba diving. I find these activities incredibly relaxing and adventurous, allowing me to fully enjoy nature and clear my mind.
